Well I went over the SV today with a cleaning brush and am dismayed at the nastiness that has occurred with the finish on some of the above mentioned tightening devices ......... despite my best efforts with ACF50 there are just some bits that cannot be rescued
![]() Also forgot to mention I got some Stainless Rear Rotor bolts off eBay , they look like they were supplied by the now defunct BSR-Aerotek (shame really) and also a Stainless Gear Shifter Rod as well . Let the fetish begin ![]() |

Nice one Darren , that site will come in handy for some of the weirder things on the bike that will be hard to find

Yeh it's a good site. I've also just ordered a tub of allen bolts from Mr Fastner.
I never seem to have the bolts I need |

I used to work as a fitter at a dairy so I have loads of Normal bolts and nuts in Stainless , none of them attractive enough to use on a bike

I was the same when I cleaned my bike recently. Bought in July, covered in ACF-50 before Christmas, cleaned with S-DOC the other day. Boy are the fixings all furred/rusted up!?!
Would be good to see a comprehensive list (with prices) of replacement bits and pieces. |

find a local machine shop take in what you want and ask how much. And if your a fitter surely you can cut a thread onto stainless bar and have a go at doing something like a replacement front spindle which would be interesting although cutting a socket on the end would be fun.
I'm an electrical apprentice and i can cut threads and turn bar on a lathe. Hmmm ideas going into head. |
