Question good excuse to give up hours in work?

as some of you may, or may not know, i work every sunday, on a 2 week rota (week one:7am till 3pm and week two:3pm till10pm) which is interfearing with my motorcycle enjoyment.

so im wanting to give up my sunday mornings, but i have to fill out a form stating why, and im thinking "cos i wanna go out on my bike" is not a valid reason.

i was thinking of saying i dont get any time to spend with freinds and family, and im getting stressed over it (which is kind of true)

my mate say tell them you started going to church,

any better ideas

If they dont think your reason is valid will they reject your request or is it just a paper pushing exercise ?

church is good, they cant stop you practising your religion...., say your wife/mother/partner started going and then bought you along and you started to get into it and you want to take the next step in the commitment to god etc etc and motorcycle nirvana is reached...

Say you had a dream god said he'd smite you and your company for prioritising work over church. ....only reason you did it was because you're such a hardworking loyal employee, but the smiting might be a detriment to the company so maybe you should take notice.

If your not religious then dont lie and use wanting to go to church as a reason.

I'd just tell them the truth that you have a hobby that you enjoy doing and your work hours are preventing you from doing it. If you've found somebody to cover your shift then I dont see what the problem is.

Whether the other person is or isnt reliable isnt really your problem is it.

I'd think wanting to spend more time with family would be somewhat better than the hobby excuse...
