maxxis update
These came today for another guy at work-
he's gonna be the fourth guy using them now, feedback from the others has been good to say the least- first guy been riding bikes for over 25 years, bit of a looney- has them on his 04 ninja-totally loves them, says that at the start he was unsure as to how they were gonna compare with his usual brands(bridgestone, dunlop,pirelli)-now has complete confidence in them and says that the bike feels as planted to the road as ever-now done over 2000 miles, mixture of motorway commute and very spirited country road riding. second has them fitted to his gsf600,riding for just over 2 years, binned his sv last november allways rode with bridgestones-only ever uses the bike on motorway for commuting-again really happy with them, he's done over 3500 miles all motorway in all weathers, no complaints-says he gets good feedback from them and he has no worries in the wet. third-johnny spaz-past his test last december and bought a srad 600-he's only done a few hundred miles on them but so far he's had no issues-saying that he's had nothing to compare them with. fourth -big chris is getting the above set for his bandit 1200, has been riding for about six years and does a mix of commute and loon, said before that he really goes through tyres so it will be good to get his feedback on these after a wee while. I'm gonna keep this updated and see how these pan out, given the review they got from the superbike test rider in one mag,and the riding capability of your average joe, if they continue to be successful and popular maybe see more tyre manufacturers dropping there prices to a more reasonable cost. husky |

Re: maxxis update
They are ok, but just ok on the Raptor, not excellent.
Replacement Avon Storm on the rear last year performd much better. Still got a Maxxis on front but its getting replaced asap, as its not doing its job it seems(obviously different makes are the issue)

#shrugs# supermaxx is all I can see without moving it. Just peeped in the shed....fuggin Raptor did its usual wobble when breathed on. I think we'll be keeping a watchful eye on the Avons miles. Raptors like to eat tyres for breakfast, they don't last very long

Re: maxxis update
Well people i received mine about 2 weeks ago but have only managed to put 70-80 miles on them so far and havent had chance to get all the residue off them yet. These were a relacement for my original dunlops which i managed to keep going for 6000+ miles. Now i dont claim to be an expert on tyres and im pretty sure any new rubber would have made a big difference do for but.....for £100 delivered to my door, i have found these to be really good and i have confidence to lean the bike over.
Heres the lean angles i have manged to achieve so far on the maxxis and i havent really pushed them as im not the best rider on a bike but i do hope to get rid of the chicken strips on them by the end of the summer.
