right, the time has come
got this article http://www.moto-racing.co.uk/Guides/...up.htm#DAMPING anyone reccomend any others? need to do the whole thing including sag, so i have to back everything off to do this the forks have been breathed on so am guessing (as it wasnt me who had it done) that they have different springs oil and valves to the original. therefore standard settings wont apply. this therefore begs the question question, where is a good start point to start fiddling with the various adjustments? thanks all tom |

Set the sag first.
Then work from the reccomended factory settings for everything, and pick one damping adjuster at a time. Pick a road that has some fast and smooth, as well as soume poor surfaces and change the adjuster by a reasonable number of clicks at a time. once you're happy you know what difference that adjustment makes pick a setting that seems a reasonable comprimise. Then move on to the next adjuster. Do both adjusters for the front / back before moving on to the other end. Jambo

Good evening.
As your suspension isn't standard, & you don't know quite what has been done, I suggest that you determine what area of your suspension if any could do with a tweak & go from there. Make only very small adjustments, & to only one area at a time. A customer of mine a few years ago, got 'twiddleitus' with his Fazer 1000, & ended up highsiding it, as he had adjusted the settings differently on each fork leg. He was ok, but his bike needed an MCI (major cash injection). ![]() Cheers. |
