Question Bearings

i use a components shop round the corner from work for all sorts of belts ect but lately i've been going in there for bearings. Recently I've been going in there for bearings for the bike. Last Friday i went in to get some head bearings and was told that they couldn't supply them as they're OEM

surely he's feeding me bull plop right?!, Suzuki cant patent a size of bearing can they?? i got my wheel bearings fine

No they're a normal size. Probably just don't stock them!

Noone can patent a size of bearing AFAIK. What they could do is contract someone to make a wierd size, so noone else could be rsed making any aftermarket ones for such a small market.

But, just go to bikebearings (marksman industrial) for them.

Well the top bearing he's telling the truth, they're not a normal size. Zoran at twin works factory turns down an off the shelf bearing to suit. SV raceshop also made one for a time (just copied off zoran), but they made a pigs b0ll*cks of the job and didn't break the sharp edge, so they didn't sit right in the frame.

The bottom bearing is a bog standard one. 32006

Far as I can see TWF one is a 99-3506 or similar that's not so tall with 1mm taken off the OD.

But if you have stems swapped all is cool.
