Except when wet... as they have a fabric cover which lets water through so the foam underneath soaks it up like a sponge.

My gel seat (07 pointy) has a plastic cover on it, so doesn't let water through, and is very comfy.

If you get out bid on this one (which is highly likely
 )Then get Tony Archer to put a gel pad in your own saddle. It'll probably work out much cheaper than a genuine saddle http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/ He can even recover it. I'm going to send my OEM gel seat to be recovered in a non sponge like cover. The curvy ones are the worst for this, but it is much better than the standard plank Several Northern folk will recommend his work & prices
