Default Racetech emulators

Thinking of getting some in the hope that they will improve the useless suspension and make the bike handle a bit better, and just wondered if anyone on here has them on their bike and what they thought of them? Want to make sure they're worth the money!

They're definitely worth it, I've got a set. But probably best to upgrade the rear shock first. Doing both will transform the bike.

What did you do to your rear shock? And did you do anything else to the front forks, i.e. different springs and fork oil? Was thinking of doing the front end first- changing the oil and springs and getting some emulators, and then getting a new rear shock, probably off a gsxr, later (when I have some more money).

With emulators you need to modify damper rods. Change springs if you need for your weight, and oil with it.
If you have curvy I have set of used emulators I sell for half a price.

I've got a nitron rear shock, also springs matched for my weight in the front. You may find that if your bikes a few years old the oil in the forks will be like water. Try changing the oil first and then see if you still need better. Changing the oil is far cheaper, and it's easy to do.

As I believe your bike is a K2? I would suggest that the first thing is to drain and replace the fork oil cost £10ish evaluate, if still unhappy replace springs matched to your weight £70/80 evaluate, again if still not safisfied Emulators but more work involved as zadar advises. All this work can be done progressive to suit your needs, then the ultimate challenge gsxr front change ££??
Plenty of threads on here regarding rear damper/shocks very cost effective improvement £30-60 dependant which you can get hold of.
I am about to rebuild my own forks today with emulators/springs/oil, pm me if you think I can advise BUT listen to yc/zadar knowledge base experts.

This is order I would try things and stop when you're 100% happy with it*

Fresh oil
Stiffer springs (I'd probably start with these TBH, I know how far out the stock ones are for 12st)
emulators
AK20s/gsxr front

GSXR front is great, because it's basically free once you've sold your OEM parts, mine cost me <£40 which included the cost of me getting fleeced on a set of bent discs.
SRAD might be about correct stock weight for you actually.

Rear shock, SRAD shock will be an improvement if it is not too long for you. Otherwise get a trick one but they are expensive.

*which guaranteed you will never be when you ride something with the setup that's just that bit better

Thanks everyone. I've already replaced the fork oil a while ago so that's not the problem. Gonna try stiffer springs, and then probably the emulators. Hopefully that will do the job! If not, how much work is a gsxr swap? How easy is it to get hold of all the parts and have you got a rough idea of what it would cost to buy them all?

p*ss easy to get hold of parts.
Cost depends which ones you want.

Best value for money is GSXR600 SRAD. Much better internals, brakes etc. It is what I have on mine.

Yokes £40 (I have spare set for this price + post)
Forks £80 or so
Wheel £80
Discs £80-100
Spindle £10
Calipers £40
Speedo sensor £30

reason it is cheap is you can sell your SV stuff on when you've done the swap, making it pretty much free.

Looks like that

Not as expensive as I'd thought, and it does look good. Aaaargh I can't decide what to do! Spent the whole day looking on the internet trying to decide what would be best and I still can't decide!!!! This sounds like the best option though...
Do all GSXR parts fit an SV? Also, this may sound a bit of a dumb question, but when you buy a wheel does a tyre normally come with it? I do need a front tyre and that would be over £100 so if a tyre came with the wheel it might make it even more economical to do the full swap...
Oh, and would it to be best to buy all the bits together from the same bike or is that not important?
