Default what can i expect

right as quite a few of you know ive been off work for 12 months due to a drunkin b1tch smashing up my knee
my doc says im fit to return to work just not my job, eg if i was an office worker id be sorted
ive just phoned my work and sorted out a meeting for monday to disuss my future
so this is how it stands at present
i cant walk for long periods or stand for over an hour without major pain in my leg
now being a seciruty guard these thing are fundimental, so i think im screwed
they do have a cctv monitoring part, but this is done on rotation not as a pisific job in itself,
now that job would be perfect for me but alas i dont know if the powers that be will go for it
also its a big company and im a non entity in the scale of things

any ideas ,insight anything would be appreciated
dave

Dave,

Not quite sure of your company's policies etc but bearing in mind the direction the meeting may take can I suggest you ask about someone being allowed to accompany you. Or at least talk to someone with HR experience beforehand so you don't back yourself into a corner.

Good luck,

Bri

P.S. if you want me to come over Thursday or Friday for a lunchtime beer and a chat just pm me - I can fit it in with a meeting down at Chorley

If your income protection is anything like mine sir dave then check out the details on there. Mine clearly states they will continue to pay in full until I can return to my job (not some varient/employable position) but my actual job right here in this chair 9-5 5days a week. It words it a bit more posh than that but thats the jist, might be worth checking out if its similar for you.
If you're still claiming sick atm, then obviously your employer will want you back doing something/anything as long as your making your self usefull that prevents them paying out for someone who's not there. Take Bri up on his offer he's a man at the top of the busniess food chain he should be able to put you straight.
