changing rear brake pads- what's needed?

what would i need to change the rear pads on an 06 plate?

i.e. bleed kit etc....

You don't need to bleed the brake lines to replace pads. Although if your fluid hasn't been changed for a few years you may want to. It's up to you.

They just push back in.

i did mine last week, the piston just should push back inside the caliper, make sure the little clip that sits at the back of the caliper/mounting bits doesnt fall out, otherwise your pads will most likely drop down and all hell breaks loose lol

just looked into changing mine on an SK3, however i got as far as stage 1.....the screw cover did not want to budge and i did not want to break it as it felt like quite a soft metal. Any ideas on how to remove this?

i just got a really long screw driver and had someone push against the other side of the bike so i could push on it pretty hard to get it cracked loose,

remember to grease up pin, that little screw cover and bolts,

but dont get anything on disc or new pads!!! lol

You might want to consider giving the caliper a good clean once the pads are out and before you push the pistons in.

You don't have to completely remove the caliper, you can leave it attached to the brake hose but it just makes sense to keep on top of it if you are at that point anyway.

P.S. Where are you Goldy? Might be a local who can be on standby in case you get stuck
