Default Front axle advice...

Hi all,
Im currently doing a front end swap on an sv650. The forks are K1 GSXR 1000, front wheel is 750 SRAD and the front axle is an early 2000 GSXR750's.
I got given the axle when i bought the forks. Its the type with the main axle and a threaded top hat which goes through from the other side of the fork.
My question:
Where the wheel bearing seals run on the top hat there are two worn grooves. They are around the complete circumference and are about 1/2mm wide and 1/2mm deep.
I presume this is not good as dirt and moisture could ingress past the scratches into the wheel bearings? Is this a common thing on GSXR's?
If i need to get a new one are all tophats the same throughout the early models? Does anyone have one lying around that i could have?

Many thanks!
Lynx

you cant use a srad wheel unless you do some machining of the spindle as the outside to outside bearing size is different.

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe the people who sold me the stuff are incorrect as ive put it all together and measured it and it fits fine... Im sure its an srad wheel as the out side of the bearings are 136.5. With the axle in the forks the gap is 136.5. lol Not sure.

Ive just had another look at the table. The distance on srad yokes are 214 and the distance on the gsxr 750 are 207. So thats a 7mm difference. The srad wheel is 136.5 where as the gsxr750 are 129.5. Again a 7mm difference. I think combining the srad wheel, the srad yokes and the later axle cancel out the 7mm difference. I could be talking sh*t...I guess you would be using 7mm less of engaged thread?
