Default Today could have been a very bad today

Just witnessed a biker drop his bike......so nearly a fatal.

Driving along the A47 in Cambridgeshire, nice straight road, but heavy traffic and heavy rain. A guy on an early Kwak ZZR1100 passed me only doing about 60mph. Next thing I know he's hit the deck about 10 metres in front of me. He and his bike are both sliding along the road. He had his back to the on coming traffic, but from where I'm sat I can see it all. A couple of car pass him, then he starts to slide into the opposite lane. He didn't see the HGV bearing down on him. I thought I was about to see him pop. The truck driver didn't see him until quite late, but managed to swerve over onto the hard shoulder. At which point a 4x4 behind him sees this as a chance to over take him.

Fortunately everyone managed to avoid running the guy over. Time we stopped and got to him he was up and unhurt. I picked his bike up and moved it to the side of the road. Ruining a pair a jeans due to the oil that was all down the side of it. The road must have had the bike's entire oil content over in. I rang the local plod to come clean it up.

Glad he was fine thanks to some skilful HGV driving. But bugger me I was physically shaking after, really shocking moment that for some reason I just had this image of the guy being ran over. He said he braked and the front end just went.

After he called for recovery I did think of asking him if he wanted to buy my Ducati....every cloud and all that!

Sounds like a bit of shock for you there. Have a restful evening and try to relax, after seeing that I am hardly surprised that you are a bit shook up.

Take care matey.
Hugs x

I'm all good now, just one of those moments that really puts the craps up you. I was praying, don't slide over the white line.

I hate that, you can see what's going to happen, but you're stuck there powerless watching it unfold. Yuk!

Good job he's OK and you are too.

I think he was lining up an overtake then bottled it and grabbed and handful.

Lucky him and lucky you. If he'd got creamed you would never have forgotten it.
