Default HD owners

We've had some good weather the last few days here in Ireland and I'm trying to take full advantage of it.

And it seems I'm not the only one out there on bikes.

Seen some really nice, some fast, some shiny, all sorts of machinery.

But there's one thing really ruining my day.

Harley owners WTF and I really mean the CAPS. WTF is with all the revving when stopped? I count 3 harleys the oldest a 2005 and the youngest a 2011 bike and every effing one of them does this.

They sit at the lights their bike drops to idle.. then they blip... drops to idle blip. It gets really old really fast. I know the 2 stroke GP bike do this in the pits cause they CANNOT idle at 1000rpm But come on surely a 2011 harley can idle !@:@

Oh it's simple to explain, on a sports bike you'd go blat the bends, a tourer you'd go for along weekend around the coast roads, small town bike you'd cut through the traffic, in short you'd play to your bikes strengths, with Harleys that's the look of the thing and the noise they make.

Lets face it they have nothing else to show off

Cheers Mark.

"It's not about the bike man, it's the lifestyle" is what I was told by a Hardly Ravingson owner after I told him that I had ridden nicer diggers.
I'm with Rictus on this one, they have to say...."Look at me & my shiny vibrator between my legs"

Its attention seeking.
I'm sure H*rley dealers tell customers that there aint a idler on the motor.

Blipping is only good on 2 strokes and open piped classics on a starting grid

I own an old sportster and a 02 sv. Now that you mention it, i blip the throttle on them both. probably to do with being brought up on a ragar*e selection of 60's and 70's bikes which never wanted to idle, or do anything well, at least not the ones I could afford at the time.

Seems like a very small thing to let get under your skin though. If someone ruins your day because they blip their throttle at lights, it may be that you're just a little too sensitive to that, no?

The guy's just riding his bile like you. he wants to blip his throttle, you may wear a sweatband round your M/C or do something equally silly. relax. don't let it ruin your day. it's just people out enjoying themselves on their bikes, same as you. Does it really get to you that much?

They just enjoy the sound of their bike exhaust, why not. What does CAPS mean? children of aging parents?
