Hi All,
I've heard that putting an R6 throttle tube gives quicker throttle response as the travel isn't as far as the standard SV throttle tube. Has anyone got any experience of this? Cheers, Martin |

Done it on my road bike and didn't really notice the difference. Venhill QA is quite cheap and works perfect

Well I thought it was gash, maybe because I had been riding a old hornet with a very short turn throttle for a long time before the SV?
Anyway, make your own mind up, if you search the forum you can find the part number. 5 minute job on a curvy, requires slight modification for a pointy ( or so I'm told )

Thanks for the replies guys. If its only a quick job i'll give it a go and see how it feels.

bumping an old thread here, I just attempted to fit an R6 5EB throttle tube to my gen-1 sv.
With the r6 tube in there, i had to pull a load of slack cable with the adjusters below the throttle, not enough adjustment really available so it will mean messing with the adjusters hiding under the airbox in order to get the throttle freeplay set. not a 5 minute job. To make matters worse i can detect little difference in the reach of the throttle from the SV item. seems to be something of a bogus upgrade ! |

@winder no, faired,sv650s
on the left in the pic is the tube i was sold as r6 throttle tube , on the right OE sv650s item i can see now why i had to wind the adjusters out, there is a big bit of plastic flesh missing. it is otherwise quite similar. does this look right ? Last edited by sicknote; 22-04-12 at 08:49 AM. |
