Default Recommendations; supension, tyres, chain etc.

So I am finally in a position to be able to get the bits I need to get my beloved back on the road.

She's been under a cover since AR11 so I'm anticipating the battery will need a charge at the very least.

Before I go and spend on the first thing that takes my fancy, thought I'd see if people know of any decent deals and/or anything else to take into consideration.

I'm planning on doing a fair amount of miles this year

- Battery Charger. I dont need one of these "battery-on-charge-for-months" optimisers, just something to charge a dead battery up.

- Rear Tyre. As I have Avon Storm 2's on the front with a bit left I might as well get another for the rear. Was just going to ebay/google, unless anyone else had any ideas.

- C&S set. Got a link for an Ebay set at home, dont think there is anything special I need to consider. Keeping my -1T front on as that is only had couple months use.

- Springs. After much deliberation, I'm going to just go for springs first. K-tech linear 0.85's if I remember rightly.

It had an oil change after the AR and not rode since, so that'll be fine.

I'll check the brakes also as they have been standing for a bit but should be ok.

Thanks!

H

Want the charger to be cheap then? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-BATTER...-/230628397848

Make sure you buy a fork oil with a cst@40 value of 33-40, whether it's 5wt or 15wt doesn't matter a toss, it's the kinetic viscosity that matters. The viscosity of the Suzuki G10 fork oil is 33.

lolpointy

Will that type of charger work for charging up flat batteries - I only ask as it is described as a trickle charger? How would I know how long to leave it plugged in for?

and thanks Ralph for the cst thing, saved me looking it up

Well its not one of them fancy chargers like my Optimate which can revive dead batteries.

But being a trickle charger means you can leave it on without it overcharging

Cheapest price I found for Storm II's waswww.OPONEO.co.uk. Cost £106 delivered for a rear. Delivery does take a week tho', comes all the way from Poland! They were recommende to me by someone on here.
