Default Kawasaki KLE500 stalling problem

My boss has just bought a KLE500 and sometimes when selecting first it lurches and stalls. Once warmed up it's normally fine. We did an oil change recently and found it had 4 1/4 litres of oil in it instead of 3.4l. He is sure the clutch is adjusted correctly. The previous owner said it had been sat a long while, could the plates be sticking or something?

1. take it out for a good thrashing and that will free up the clutch plates then you will know.

2. people measure how much oil goes in and comes out of the bike? i make sure i keep the oil level near the maximum level on the dipstick

Yes we measured it because the amount that came out seemed excessive.
