Does anyone have any recommendations for a route tracking app for an iPhone.
Key requirements are :- - cheap or free - selectable capture rate so I can trade-off accuracy for battery life - Integration to Google maps or similar to show route on a map - Ability to download route to a PC for review - Not require user intervention to keep capturing once set off. (eg, not ask me if I want to start logging each time I stop/start) I need to be able to start it up, stick it in my pocket and not worry about it again until lunchtime. Nice to have - Ability to add notes on the fly - Ability to add/tag photos - Stats such as overall distance, travel time etc Ta.

Paul Wilson's FB is full of showing off of his cycle routes using something called Endomondo, the big headed git. Might be worth looking into. Seems popular and always results in a Google Maps route posted to his FB.

I have Diablo superbiker. Free and you can see a lot of info on a map but not sure if you can download to a pc. Will investigate when I am home but may be worth a try?

Viewranger is good.
meets all your key requirements. It will sync to your account on your PC, from where you can do allsorts, like share, print pdf of route etc. You can also set waypoint alarms which is useful. |

Try EveryTrail. I downloaded but havent had a chacne to use it yet. Think it does most of what you need, plus within the app you can search for routes saved by others etc.
