Default Electrical problem - Curvy.

ok so the bike is an sv650s 2001. when i got it for a steal of a price at 800 it had issues charging. after getting a regrec and alternator and several new batteries later my charging issue was fixed, however an issue that ive still got is a slight flicker where everything on my dash and lights etc dims if i hit the break or if i hit indicators it dims whilst active etc so id assume maybe a wire is not earthing properly or something im no expert. anybody know where to suggest starting?

Does this happen when moving, or just at idle?

Sometimes the supply at a low idle can be a little low and show this up. In some cases just raising the idle speed (it should be around 1400 or so) will fix the issue. If, however, you're seeing this on the move then that's less likely to be it.

I'd start by establishing that the voltage supplied is stable.

UK bikes run 2 lights for low beam, 2 for high.

EU bikes had a filament and a projector light and used one or other as required for dipped / high beam

I had a similar issue. It was a bad earth joint in the loom.

if it flickers when you press brakes, it's the bad earth or corrosion on cable connectors.
It did on mine.
Check if you are running 45W bulbs (standard) or 55/60w (non oem spec). Extra current draw might cause this.
Check connectors on red/black wires leading from battery. Also alternator connector (yellow wires) can corrode (my problem last year)

Also check all the fuses have clean contact blades, the holders look in good condition, and check the main 30A fuse and terminals in the starter relay (green box behind right side triangle panel), these can get badly corroded on some bikes.
