Abba stands are great bits of kit and are worth having if you do regular work on the bike. If your planning a one off or infrequent job (fork removal) there are other ways.
Ratchet straps under the top yoke and over a roof beam/rafter worked for me once. Car jack under the engine will also work if you're careful. I ended up buying a headstock stand as I already had a rear paddock stand. This also allows removal of the forks. Like I said, abba stands are great. Just make sure you can justify the cost to you personally. |

I used mine to get my forks off on the sv. Coupled with two bits of wood under my crash bungs lifted it high enough.

As above, ABBA stand + car jack under the header pipes was all I needed to be able to drop the forks out of the Blade.
Never even looked like it was going to shift, they're brilliant bits of kit. |

Now if Ralph were around he'd make you one for a fiver out of a curlywurly and a dead slug.
One advantage of the abba is that the pivot point is quite a way forward so any sort of heath robinson front end lift you cobble together has less effective weight to lift. However for under £40 you can get a front headstock lift which works well with an abba. <Link>

Good morning all.
Not being a fan of jacking bikes on the engine or exhaust, & for those with a garage, who indulge in regulat twiddling. A good tip is to sink a couple of folding hooks into the floor. The type HGV's use on trailers. Park the bike on the Abba, with the rear wheel between the hooks, & use a ratchet strap through the wheel to lift the front. A jack under the engine/exhaust can then be used as a steady. Cheers. |

Check the company's website - a Superbike stand + fitting kit (if req'd) + P & P = £106.90. Why buy from Ebay when you can get brand new for near enough the same price?

Does anybody know which abba fitting kit fits the sv650 and which other bikes it fits? Also will the sv1000 kit fit the 650?
