Default Coolant removal - how?

Hi guys and gals
So yesterday for some unknown my radiator cap was loose and the bike wee'd all the coolant so I chucked some water in as I was 50 miles from home and it got me back safely, today I will be getting new coolant, is there a particular one? Also how do I empty the water out of the rad?? Thanks in advance

Drain the whole lot out, buy premixed coolant and refill, check for air locks by squeezing the hoses.
By using premix you know you have the correct mixture.
Alternatively if you have a coolant hydrometer to check the specific gravity of your mix use raw coolant

1. Undo rad cap
2. Undo water pump drain bolt on the right hand side of the engine.
3. Watch water come out at a surprising rate and angle & spill all over the floor.
4. collect what's left
5. re-seal water pump drain bolt.
6. Lift tank &undo expansion tank filler cap
7. undo small line from just below rad cap to expansion bottle and lower it so water drains into the bucket from there too.
8. reconnect everything, re-fill with chosen coolant (anything for a modern car / aluminium engine will be just fine) first the radiator then the expansion tank.
9. start the engine to work out any air locks then check levels again.
10. beer time!
