Default Togmie EAR Ride Down From Norfolk

Hi All,

On the of chance anyone inside Norfolk or it's borders wants to join the ride down to Essex for Togmie, there be atleast 2 of us heading south early hours on Saturday 31st August to get there for around 9-9:30 at the latest.

The main details are here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=188803

Let us know if you are up for it and we can see if we can form a group

Anyone in Suffolk you're already pretty much there and anyone from Cambridgeshire can always hop over the border fence and meet somewhere like Thetford maybe?

So far the usual suspects are:

1. Kaivalagi
2. Thunderace

Nothing certain, just canvassing for now, it really depends on where we want to stop and wait for more etc but I figure if we want to get there for 9:30 it will be something like a 7am start:

Norwich - 7am
Thetford - 8am
Togmie (Althorne CM3 6BJ) - 9:30am

The default route Google gave is here

The Thetford stop I figured would be good to be the big layby with the cafe in the woods (forgot the name) here

So long as my replacement battery arrives in time to fit it, I'll see you at the A12/A14 junction somewhere

Best option is the Tesco petrol station at Copdock

Your Google link shows two suggested routes, one much more interesting than the other. The best one is the one that goes through Halstead, the other is a lot of boring but useful A12.

I can join you on either of the routes, either at the A14/A12 interchange if you go that was, or somewhere in Halstead if you go that way. I can show you some fairly nice roads either way.
Plus, I know where the pub is!

I am not bothered about nice routes there to be honest, especially when heading from Norwich, I'm more worried about not having to get up at silly o'clock Maybe if there's some time after wards we can go for a nice bimble heading north?

Just waiting to hear back from Thunderace and a meeting point for him and me, I want to see if we can shift the route eastward towards Diss to cut down on time but allowing a meet in Ipswich. As we were already heading down together before this thread got posted I need to work it out with him first to accommodate all we can.

If do-able I'll post a new route which will allow an Ipswich pick up at Tesco's, but that ain't gonna happen if we're going via Barton Mills/Thetford...that would mean a 3 hour zig zag just to get to a ride out....

OK, no problem. When you've fixed your route I'm sure I can join it at some point

No worries, makes the ride down a little simpler if not a bit lonely the twists will have to keep me company, staying away from all those dreaded 50 limits and double solid lines on the A140/A14

@All
So.....the route will now be this and the only stop will be in Ipswich...the Tesco's Near Copdock at between 8:15 - 8:30am to arrive at Althorne for 9:30am

Anyone wanting to meet up will have to pick a suitable stop point on the route above and I'll give a rough time when or meet at Ipswich as above

Cheers
