I see J&S currently have special offers on a lot of clothing and was looking at the Akito Python II jacket (waterproof, armour) for £99 that also includes a free pair of Akito trousers (supposedly worth £79).
Anyone had experience of this stuff? Is it actually waterproof? I'm currently just using leathers with a waterproof over the top but it's a real pain getting all the kit on.... ![]() Cheers. |

My old winter jacket was akito, waterproofing needs redoing every couple of years and the jacket lasted nearly 6 years...
Good kit for low money |

My boots are made by Akito, I decided not to invest lots and change them every year when they get too odorous, now 7 months old and not leaked once, even in all the bad weather.

I, like quite a few on here as a result of a magazine subscription offer, have a pair of Akito Carbon Track summer gloves. So far so good with those - they seem well made.

I have an Akito Cobra Plus jacket for about 3 years now. As Ian said, It will need waterproofing occasionally. I took the foam inserts(armour?) out and replaced them with what was in my older jacket. When we where getting the stormy weather in Ireland a few weeks back I had a waterproof top over it.
I am off to NEC on saturday and hope to pick up a new jacket. |

I have an Akito winter jacket that I got from the NEC last year for £70. Not the greatest fashion item but keeps me warm and dry. In fact it's sitting in the barthroom letting the water drip off as it chucked it down cats & dogs on the way home. I remained nice and dry.
I have also removed the armour and lining and worn it over my leathers. Great for that Sunday blast in the winter, when you know you should be wearing leather but you want to stay warm...... . |

![]() Jacket is better. The only time I have had it let water in was when I didn't have the lining in and it creeps in through the silver bit on the sleeves. The silver stuff seems to provide ventilation, but that must mean only the lining is keeping the water out ![]() |

My whole kit is Akito (excluding lid), leather jacket, leather trousers, boots and gloves.
Had no problems at all with them - I would recommend them. |
