Hi,

I polished the swinging arm on my old zx6 and swore l wouldn't do again, so l prompltly did my partners svs swinging arm. If anybody see's me near a polishing mop and paste they have my permission too shoot me.

The point is they are relatively flat surfaces, the sv frame being round would be a total nightmare.

Good luck!

Hi
Of all the bikes i,ve seen with polished frames, I cant think of any (except the custom ones) that havent been dropped.
Its the first thing that I would ask, and would be very dubious about buying one if they said it had,nt been dropped.
And it does entail a complete strip/rebuild of the bike !!!

I've polished whole bikes before and I'll never do it again.
First couple of months it looks great, mirror polished alloy gleaming in the sun. Then rain and bad weather set in and it gets dull very quickly.
So you have to do it all again...

Rather have the frame plastic coated in another colour than polish. Metallic blue with matching fork bottoms?

I agree with the above nearly every bike that I've seen with a polished frame has been pranged.

Whatever you can think of, rest assured somebody has thought of it before you.

I have heard on another "Post" in this forum saying that after you have polished, use a "Wax based" polish afterwards, as this help prolong the life of the shine. Can anybody recommend a polish (and no not mr sheen ) wax based that I can get. Tried looking in the big B&Q @ Enifeld but no joy .. A product name would be great so there is something I can ask for..
