just bought cd of rush in concert in rio. this group have been around since about 76 (how old) and are still rockin the airwaves. i saw them on the spirit of radio tour just after acdc toured (they were the dogs nadgers at donnington). many of there songs have played a major part in my life. do you have a favourite group/solo artist that has played a certain song in a special time in your life. what memories does it relate to

Still got loads of Rush vinyl but not blown the dust off for about 10 years as no turntable anymore

I can't say that he's a particular favourite, but I am incapable of hearing Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" without remembering a very wet & windy Mon evening & walking a rather nice young lady home from our local youth club
![]() BTW - Rush are EXCELLENT. ![]() ![]() ![]() I remember seeing them live for the first time at Earls Court ('80 - '81 ?) & being blown away by Geddy Lee playing bass guitar & 2 sets of bass pedals at the same time; Alex Lifeson playing his guitar slide style with a metal wrist band whilst his fingers played a solo on a Mini Moog synth & Neil Peart's hands moving at lightspeed across his drumkit (sometimes playing quietly as well as fast !!)

mmmmmm some folk here with excellent taste in music i see. possibly a few rockers at heart aye.
niel peart has been my icon since the day i first heard him and this is what made me take up the drums. my personal hero's range from joe satriani, gary moore, floyd, eagles, BLONDIE, acdc, jam, steve hillage, purple, sabbath to beathoven, carl orf etc etc. not too keen on rave music although depends how sloshed i am. what you in to ![]() |
