Default felling slow

hi, ive just been out on my bike after seeing the (how to wheelie vid) on the other thread and whilst trying the snap wheelies to get the hang of the bike going up i noticed that my power delivery of not instant, it kinda waits a sec to kick in, because of this the from wheel doesent wanna cum up, i dont know what the prob is,
i cud do little wheelies on my nsr using the clutch from a stand still but im scared to do that on my nsr incase i flip it
any idears what the problem could be? also i went flat out to see how fast i cud go and could only reach 120 or so then it seemed to not want to go any faster.
i was thinking the carb or the spark plugs mite need changing nit sure if its carb or injection tho
its a curvy 02 with 3500 miles on the clock
any help would b great

If it's an 02 curvy then it's got carbs, and it sounds very much as though they need balancing (though with only 3500 on the clock it does begar the question why?). Not a big job and will dramatically improve throttle response.

I balanced the throttle bodies on my pointy and made quite a bit of difference to the power responce. It had done 4.5k and had felt bad for ages so similar milage to you. I don't think it has anything to do the fueling, so can shouldn't be an issue I think.

Sounds like it's knackered or you bodged it Have it checked over ASAP as you don't want it to snap while you're riding.

Seems more likely that the axle slipped back to its old position to me... Unless it's completely knackered and near-death of course.

i got my curvy to lift a bit in first and cant get almost 140mph so i think something is wrong with yours

i posted the wheelie thread vid but think its quite hard to power wheelie SVs's in first with standard gearing, might just be me (learning to wheelie on it, didnt do any on my RS)

i will get the hang of it summer

When your girlfriend is on the back, the suspension is compressed and more of the slack in the chain is taken out. It should have about 30mm of movement from lowest to highest point when on the sidestand if you wiggle it. (With nothing but the bike's weight on it)

I would recomend stearing well clear of Autosol, this is NOT ment for cleaning chians and it may do dammage to the o rings. If the chain is getting slack again after a short ride check that it doesent have any tight spots. You can find rolling the bike forward or spinngin the rear wheel on astand that some places it's tighter than others. If this is the case you want to get the chain replaced pretty sharpish as it's knackered.
