how do you go about it? is it just a case of taking the pads out, clearing all brake dust and apply a little copper grease on the back of pads and replace?

any idea where i can get hold of those R clips that hold the rear pins in ?
my g/f's ones are looking a bit on the weak side, and want to replace them soon, to be on the safe side. (please dont say "suzuki dealer" as i would rather not be ripped off. tried all the usual, halfords, B and Q ect ect. also, the metal bits of casing holding the rear pads in, i take it there anti squeal shims. are they better in, or out, or does it not really make a difference, ive found on my bike, they are supposed to stop squealing, but they only reduce feel when there in, and the brake doesnt sqeal when i take em out. |

Oh greg, I can see your nose growing from here. Actually your are quite correct, the second time you take it all apart it is easy. But by then you have leant the reason why the brakes must be maintained ![]()

You know I've heard all these horror stories about rear brake pin removal, but mine have always come out so easily, honestly. Okay I might have had five sets in 32k miles, so no crud build up

If the pins are stuck, or the seals knackered, I'd say it's easiest to buy a used one... If you shop carefully you can get a good condition one off Ebay for under a tenner. Plus, if you get an SRAD or TL one it'll come with the nicer torque arm too.
