Default wireless network question

we've got a BT home hub, and our neighbours have an unprotected wireless network. (called "default" if that has any bearing on the matter)

when the computer starts up it seems to log onto next door's connection automatically! i forget and the mrs is oblivious so we're probably stealing lots of bandwidth....

how do i stop this from happening, aside from asking them to put a password on it. (which i don't want to do becuase they'll realise we're always on their connection!)

Go to Start >> connct to >> Wireless network connection

On the General Tab, click properties, then i the pop up window click wireless networks. Then you should have a list, which you can remove your neighbours network and set yours as default!

not sure how the home hub thing works you may have to use the bt wireless connection software to set your network as default if bt have disabled the microsh!te one

i have 7 wireless networks near my house out of which only mine and one other are secure

You dont need the BT Wireless connection kit software malarky to connect to the home hub.

Well I didnt when I setup the BT Home Hub at Liz's parents house.

I just popped the CD in and let it set itself up... now it has disabled the microsoft wireless network setup.

The bt software has a connection order preference (e.g. connect to bt home hub first, then to xxxxxx, then to yyyyy) but it doesnt seem to work. rubbish.

will have to uninstall it at some point. I'll just plead ignorance if they notice
(should bloody well set a password shouldn't they!)
