Default Crash Damage Bike

I need some advice on what to do with my 03 SV. I was involved in an accident which basically took out the the nosecone, tank, right lower fairing, crash bung, break pedal & leaver, both right footpegs and it has also marked the grab rail.

I wrekon to get the bike back to its original state using second hand parts will cost about £500 to £600, which I havn't got!! So im considering breaking the bike. I know it will take time to get the money back selling in dribs and drabs, but what i dont know is what sort of prices I can expect to get from breaking the bike down?

Am I being silly even thinking of doing this or should I just take time to get the cash together and repair the bike, to then sell on?

BTW I will not be riding a bike again in the near future. Its purely a money exercise!

Does anyone know of someone who would be interested in buying the bike in the condition its in, maybe as a project for a track bike?

Thanks

Have you got any pictures? What about frame and fork damage?

At the moment I havnt got any pictures. The bike has been ridden at slow speed by two friends and it did run true, they seem to think there is no damage to the frame or forks. I had R&G's which took the brunt of the accident so there are no marks on the frame or engine! The mugard to the front wheel doesnt have a scratch on it, so Im pretty confident theat the forks are ok! If I was to break the bike I want to get the chassi lazer checked by a pro.

Are you interested?

Doesn't sound like much damage at all. Is the tank leaking? Can you remove or duct-tape up the fairing panels?

The tank does have a hole in it, so thats got to go! The top fairing is in pieces, but somehow the lights remained intact. A friend who owns a body repair shop said he would repair the right fairing and grab rail for £50.

Dont let it - accidents happen. You dont give up walking just because you tripped over something and fell over!
