Just wondering what the difference is between getting a full system or just keeping it with the race can, obviously there is going to be an increase in power, but how much roughly, and does is make the exhaust sound louder?? deeper?? or what?
i plan to get it on a Dyno to sort out the fueling for the can and air filter etc, but is it worth forking out and getting a full system? cheers guys! |

it makes a huge weight saving!! your wallet will literally weigh a tenth of what it did! If your that concerned with power - i'd just get a svthou.

For an SV650 any power gains are going to be negligible. The sound will be no different
with a full system or just a race can. Either will make a much better noise. ![]() The can will be much cheaper, only problem is, you are likely to have to cut your original pipe with just the can. This is pretty easy to do though. ![]() |

There is always the option of a 3/4 system this avoids cutting and can give better gains than just a can, Wiley Co and G Force do them.

In terms of power diffence I'd expect maybe 1 or 2 BHP difference, the weight saving is real, and a full Akrapovic system looks lovely

It's certainly lighter.

Don't believe anyone who says that there is no difference. There is a difference, but it is right at the top of the rev range. Whether it is good value or not is a totally different argument...

There is an akra system minus end can on ebay for BIN £150.
Just hold off and wait for a decent 2nd hand system to come up. I spent less on my 2nd hand micron system than most would on a 2nd hand blue flame end can. ![]() |

What everyone's already said really.
If you can afford it, then get a full system, it's no worse then all the bling you see on R1s and Fireblades. How many of them are being raced? Most don't even see the road outside of April-September. People often thing it's just an SV650 so why bother? But if it's a nice looking bike and you intend to keep it longterm then why not tart it up I say? Just remember that it won't add value to the bike. |
