Default Restricted licence

A friend of mine is taking her bike test today. She decided that she didn't like riding the er5 that she had been learning on and is going to do her test on a 125 instead. This means that she will get a resitricted bike licence that will automatically derestrict in 2 years time. But this isn't shown on your licence, it just says category 'A'. So, can anyone tell that the bike bit of her licence is restricted just by looking at it?

It will be shown on the back of the licence as <=33hp or something like that but it will also say A. Well mine was.

On the back of the photocard it should have something like <25kw or 33bhp if I remember from my friends license.

No probably not but if she gets caught by the police she will burn for it, she cant get insurance or a bike over 33BHP,
i hated the ER5 it really sucks, but that bit of effort and alot of hated riding miles now allows me to ride anything providing the insurance is sweet,
i had those feelings too i just stuck by it.
if she gets a bike biiger than her licence allows she cannot get insurance for it, if the police run her plates and her licence they will know.
hope she does well though

i didn't realise they indicated the less than 33bhp bit on your licence. i thought it would be a bit strange if there was no way of telling though. she is very law-abiding so i doubt she would have ridden the bike if she wasn't supposed to!!! sounds like she'll have to wait a while before she can ride her bike.

One question.

What is she going to do with her CCM for 2 years( Maybe it's possible to restrict it?

Why doesn't she like the ER-5, if she can actually ride it and pass her test then go for the full licence.

Another question she may want to ask the training achool is can she use her CCM legally on a DAS course with an instructor following her.

i think her boyfriend is going to adopt the CCM. they looked into resticting it but apparently it doesn't look a simple job.

she doesn't like the er5 because she finds it too heavy (she's been struggling with u-turns and stuff on it).

she may be able to do das course on the ccm but couldn't do the test on it as it isn't powerful enough (or doesn't have a big enough engine) to do the big bike test.

it's all very annoying really.
