aftermarket cans

hi folks, bit of a question to put to ya'll

am after getting a new can on my k5 sv650s, now i've totally fallen for a mivv stubby one(think its called sportline GP)...thing is.....will this affect the fuel mapping computer gizmos etc? i've heard some cans you need to get it all re mapped etc and others wont bother it, i probably wont take out the baffle tho as am desperately trying to keep out the eye of the plod for a few more months yet too....so any help would be appreciated!

The almost universal answer for type approved (ie. road legal with a baffle) slip on cans (ie. just the can, not the full system) is that no fuel re-mapping will need doing.

Incidentally, not a picture of their stubby but their high level link pipe looks like it could do some work - http://www.mivv.it/moto_usa/prodotti...oto.asp?id=935 - exhaust looks like it will (a) melt the right hand indicator (and will totally foul all but the smallest of tail-tidied mini indicators) and (b) set fire to any pillion

cheers matt, im not going for the hi level one, i dont think it looks as good as the shorter stubby one (although a flaming pillion could look impressive!!)

That does look good! Much better than the standard behemoth, and most aftermarket efforts too. Don't like the cone one though. Where are you buying it from and how much?

not sure where from,going to ring the uk distributor i think its £125 or there abouts....now i dont want to see you all riding round with my zorsts on lol....i like them cos they're different and not what every one has like usual yoshi's,scorpion etc etc

I usually prefer hi-level ones however think the low level looks better there. Their high level just looks out of proportion and it doesnt follow the natural line of the tail

i couldnt agree more rob, it makes it "messy", i want something like their stubby one so i can have nice clean lines, the huuuuuge can it comes with takes away from what is a lovely shaped tail end....(and if i get rid of the OE can then people will actually see the colour matched undertray me and a mate spent hours putting on!!!)
