I've heard that all aftermarket cans for my K4 SV650S require the pipework to be cut. (I'm looking at Blueflame and Remus cans.)
(1) Does this mean I can't put the OE/stock Suzuki can back on for my bike's first MOT due next Spring? Or is there a way to reconnect it? (2) Should I be worried about the MoT in south London anyway, if the aftermarket can is road-legal, eg, Remus Revolution? Thanks in advance for any helpful advice you can offer to this biking newbie. Cheers! ![]() |

(1) Yep. Tis true
(2) Road legal can is fine for MOT. Road legal can with baffles removed *may* be fine for MOT. PS. Don't worry about cutting the pipework, I know it feels horrible but it really doesn't hurt ![]() EDIT: Doh, didn't read the question right. You can put the OEM can back on, you'll need a connecting collar thingy, normally supplied free or near enough from most can companies. But you shouldn't need to put the OEM back on for the MOT unless it's really illegal ![]() |

Cheers for that. Does that mean the MoT doesn't check for emissions from a non-OEM can then? Are just interested in the markings and/or noise?

The best way is to probably go down to the garage before the MOT and ask the tester if I'll be OK with the aftermarket can on (let him know that you still have the original) or if it needs the original putting back on.
