Default F I warning light

I had a new throttle body fitted today under waranty. Some of you will remember me posting a problem with my FI warning light and the engine over revving at 4500 rpm ever time I gave it some welly. Well I've now got a completely new unit fitted so hopefully the problem has gone forever!

I opened this thread thinking "Didn't you post about FI issues before, not another one!" Glad to hear my initial thoughts were wrong & the bike is sorted

need to get mine sorted now! sounds like the same problem. I just turned the ignition off and on again and it was fixed (less fun at 90!) Any warranty issues?

Had the same thing happen a couple of times when the bike was really new and found it all a bit worrying. The dealers checked it out and traced it to an "out of adjustment throttle cable" (there are two).

It's been great ever since - not a flicker (touch wood!).

Glad it's (hopefully) sorted for you.

No warranty issues really except that when I bought the bike from Daytonas they didn't put the pink sticker in the front of my service book. Phoned Suzuki uk and they sent me a new one. The dealer I took the bike to, to sort the problem wouldn't do it without the sticker. Cos they get 2p per hour for warranty work probably!

Well - they'll get what the rest of the world get per hour I've heard people are driving to France to get work done nowadays as the labour is that much cheaper. Even costing a ferry journey and fuel in to the equation! Guess how much i got quoted for a 4000 mile service? £120! For a frickin oil change!

Ouch!

I've been quoted £160 for a 15k service. Valve check & everything. That was assuming it needed new plugs, new filters etc etc.

Yeah, I just did it myself in the end. £120 must be about £12/minute! Greedy *******s! For the 7500mile service I'll make sure I get a gsxr to play with in the mean time

AAAAArrrrrrrgghh

Spoke too soon. The bugger did it tonight on me! Took it up a wee bit faster than usual (probably wider open throttle) on a stretch of dual carriageway and the dreaded light came on. Same as you- 4500 revs or thereabouts regardless.

Fortunately enough, I was almost at my destination an pulling off. The bad bit was that I had to come off a long sweeping motorway exit and negotiate three roundabouts one after the other in damp conditions before I could switch off. As before, switch off and she's fine.

A phone call to the dealers tomorrow whilst the warranty is still in place..... but not long left.

Fingers crossed!
