My bike is a abit out of sorts at the moment, the soggy suspension isn't going to be fixed anytime soon (supplier can't deliver new springs & shock until begining of July).
Its ok bimbling to work but I'm not sure I want to embark on a long / fast run. THe main proplem is the dive. It also seems to be compromising the braking performance. I changed the fork oil for some heavier stuff a few months ago but its no made a deal of difference. I've tried putting a dash more oil in the forks but again to no avail , the difference between trampoline and unrideable rock hard is about a thimble full of oil. The rear is as soggy as **** too. So its AR07 next weekend what do I do ? |

Dunno if you've been on a big group ride before, but it tends to be very slow. You end up riding at the pace of the slowest person (and if that's you, no problem) and on top of that things are inevitably slowed down simply by being in a large group by having to pull over and wait for people who got stuck at a traffic light/junction (or use the drop off system). It's not going to be really pushing the bike in any way (hammering along over potholes on bends at 90, etc.), so I think you'll be fine.
My bike's rear shock was knackered and I've just fitted the replacement, so I know what you mean re: feeling unhappy on it. Just ride with a bit more in reserve than you would normally and you'll be fine. |

The AR wont be a fast paced or a hard ride, so you dont need to worry from that point of view.

I think your main consideration should be whether or not using it would cause any damage.
If yes, then I'd not use it. If no then it depends on how much of an irritation you find the issues and whether you can be bothered dealing with it. ![]() |

You should be ok as long as you take it easy, I think it will be quite a relaxed pace.

Maybe he can figure out a cheap, quick fix or sort out the front. You could also try swapping the fork springs David

I'm toying with changing the fork oil for some 20 weight, but TBH its probably not worth and I really can't bothered as I'm going to completely strip them and change the seals when I put the new springs in anyway. |

Got my Hyperpro spring kit the other week, hoping to get the front done on Saturday and the rear before AR07. Was a bit of a debate on if it was possible to take a stock rear shock apart and change the spring @ SELkent last night, will let you know what I find out.
