Default sv 650 tipping in

hi, just got my 99 sv650 yesterday first big bike after passing test. Riding home i found slow tight turns i.e roundabouts the bike felt like it wanted to tip in all the time which i found quite unnerving. I passed on a gs 500 so i dont know if its just something i have to get used to though i read somewhere about increasing tyre pressures to overcome this any advise welcome

thank lee

Definately check pressures, i got a slow puncture, back tyre, on the way home yesterday and by the time the tyre had lost half it`s pressure the bike was tipping in on every corner

were you riding a GS500 for the test?

i found the SV felt more willing to turn after picking mine up, with brand new tyres on it, which could be mistaken for a problem. soon it becomes a joy to throw around

I found my SV was a like that when I first got it. An MOT failure soon highlighted the fact that the head bearings were knackered which caused the steering to be notchy and want to slightly stick in the straight ahead position. You'll have to lift the front of the bike up, to get the wheel off the ground to check properly.

easy fella`s, lets not worry the poor lad with tales of doom i.e head bearings etc. Lee check tyre px then if the tyre`s squared off then get back to us `n we`ll see where to go from there

Prob sqaured rear tyres, but then I found the same thing when i rode my SV for the first time. Ride it a bit more, and get used to it, and it might not feel so bad!
