Default New owner

I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I have had to replace my gear lever and now i am have diffculty selecting 5th gear. i relieze there is a adjustment on the lever but i am not sure what gear i am supposed to be in to adjust it.

Hello to you and welcome to the site,
i dont know the answer but i could stake my job on it that some one will be along shortly who will know
Id put what model and year it is too because it will be asked, put it in your profile signiture, makes it easier on tec type questions. (My Complete guess would be nuetral)

It sounds like that you are getting the problem i have sometime, it only happens for me occasionally, i have to really kick it up and down the gearbox, because the shifter feels stuck(more like it just doesn't want to move), i tend to just give it time and it goes away. May be a problem but i seem to lose it after a while.

I'm not sure on the OP's problem, but I'll come to that in a minute. Plowsie, clean the gear lever pivot. It'll work wonders then!! WD40

As for the original problem, if the gear lever is at all sticky/rigid, then the pivot needs cleaning.

By "difficulty selecting 5th" does that mean that you hit a false neutral? Or that it just won't change gear unless you kick it good & hard? Check chain tension & clutch adjustment.
