While doing a quick detour to Tesco on my way home from work tonight I was riding a 30mph stretch of road I know well with very little traffic on it, the next thing I know a black honda civic (i think) undertakes me at speed with literally inches to spare, scaring the bejesus out of me.
Initially shaken, I couldn't believe what this **** had just done, the red mist descended so at the next set of lights I pulled up alongside and said (showing considerable self restraint I thought) "What the hell was that about?". He was a young Arab looking guy who instantly started giving me verbal abuse, just swearing, not making any sense, then threatening to kill me! Now I'm not a big guy (five, eight) but I'm fairly muscular, and with all my gear on and no sign of a weapon on this bloke, I wasn't particularly worried by his threats. He half got out of his car (door still between us)and drew back his fist, then seemed to think better of it (I guess he figured his hand would come off worse). I seriously considered putting my boot into his door and sending it straight back into his face. The way he'd positioned his body, I'm fairly sure this would have made quite an impression, but self control overcame instinct so decided I'd heard enough and left before one of us escalated it. Completely insane or off his face on god knows what I don't know. To think that there are people like that out on the roads is just unreal. Sorry for the long post, guess since I didn't batter the guy I needed to vent it. |

Well done holding back. You never know what he could have been carrying.
I worked in Blackburn for a while and the youths there were a bit aggro sometimes. They used to carry knives in their Timberland boots that they always seemed to wear undone. Total HAMSHANKERS. Anyway. Similar thread a couple of weeks ago. Good to know that you didn't get hurt. I sometimes wonder if it's worth rising to the abuse though. You can never tell what the person is like. He could be a total master at some fighting art and break your head or something! Maybe carrying a spray bottle with BREAK FLUID in it to serepticiously spray the offenders car with at the next lights!!? D'oh! |

I used to live in Blackburn. I know exactly what you mean. I used to work at Tesco's near audley..... Now that is a rough area!
Anyway well done for holding back mate. Just hopefully there is a copper around next time he decides to drive like a nob! |

Sounds like the perfect (with hindsight) situation for a very large burnout filling his car, lungs and passenger with acrid smoke before leaving him standing in his Tin Rollerskate!
![]() Pulling up next to anyone and doing a burnout scares the bejesus out of them ![]() |

Yes quite! Once heard of something like Olive oil being sprayed backwards onto a screen. Doesn't do any damage but when it comes into contact with water it just goes opaque. I don't condone this sort of thing, but it would certainly scare the beejesus out of me if it happened. |
