You mentioned about some brackets, are these needed? (if so where from) Also, any idea how easy/hard these are to fit?

You seam to be the SV god!!! I have looked at a load of different subjects and you advise everyone, Bow down to you Sir!!!

ps, do you know how to get pitted chrome front pipes back to their former glory???

Aye, they are necessary other wise the fairing would fall off (it what the bolt to). They are easy to fit, undo a bolt align the bracket up and replace the bolt clamping the bracket in place is usually the most difficult job.

What you need to do is remove the lacquer, it is that which is pitted not the metal. Best thing to do after polishing them up is to not re-lacquer them other wise you end up in the same place all over again in a years time.

Thanks again mate. I shall order the part tonight, says its complete with bolts nuts and brackets so whilst I'm waiting for that to arrive I think the front forks will come off and have some TLC. Thanks for all your help, I'll be in touch if there's anything else haha.
