Re: Cbr 600F 2001
I believe the fuel injected F's have cartridge forks (and possibly some before then, FX/FY and *maybe* even before - I can't be sure from a quick google). I have my forks apart at the moment if anyone (YC ) can identify that from the component parts? The lowers are away being powdercoated :D

Re: Cbr 600F 2001
cartridge looks a bit like a syringe... about 23-26mm in diameter with rod sticking out of top that is threaded into top cap.
A damper rod is fatter, doesn't screw into the top cap. Post a pic if that doesn't make sense. |
Re: Cbr 600F 2001
Actually I might not have the bit apart that tells you - this picture http://forks.darladog.com/cart_bottom.JPG shows you the piece I have, I haven't undone the bottom of that (didn't need to) but it looks pretty much the same (but then do all forks have this inside? It seems like the difference is internal to that piece?).

Re: Cbr 600F 2001
Nope that assemble is the cartridge.
inside that you have valves, a damper rod fork is completely different (and crap) |
Re: Cbr 600F 2001
I can post a pic of mine tonight :) I've got the top caps separate from the damper piece shown in the previous post, but I can't recall if they screwed into the top caps or not (the top of the damper piece has the suspension adjuster bits & goes through a hole in the top cap). The damper piece is quite a small diameter - around the figure you mention, though.
