Id agree; music does influence, it did when i was a teen. I quickly grew up and out of it, no need to follow a crowd.

Interesting question. It would beg the question that are you the person you are because of the music, or did was it the way you were that made you like the music. Chicken and egg, and all that.

As i listen to nearly anything, then i doubt it. I'm currently listening to Nicola Benedetti on the Violin whilst typing this! I did DJ(Semi Pro) for a fair few years and started off in dance music. So i guess that that part of my life was shaped by the music i listened too but i dont think that it shaped my personality in anyway, but then will we ever know?

If music be the food of love, then play on...and all that jazz :) Nice!

I dont know, I think it might have done. I've never really liked any of the music my friends did, I still probably dont now. But it made me realise that if you really liked something then it didnt matter what anybody else thought and it made me a little more confident to not follow the crowd and just be myself.

It also effects my mood terribly, listen to the wrong band or song at the wrong time will change the mood I'm in, some bands for example I stay away from listening to at work as I'd never get anything done.

I find music is a social thing. The music brings people together with common shraed interest and opinions.

Bit like bikes really

Hard question to answer, and already said chicken and the egg.

But out of all my close friends at school etc, we were all very close, and i think similar personalities, but we all had different music tastes, some drumm & bass, some RnB & Dance, and myself Rock (metallica etc) so for that i would say that music has nothing to do with personality. However now that time has gone by my music taste has defiantly changed and diversified, and to be honest i would defiantly say that my personality has changed dramaticly over the last couple of years.

I was really quite ill some years ago and it was at that point that i started listening and enjoying music more, and i have chilled out a lot in myself!

So in that case maybe it does!

Who knows!
