Certainly sounds like something is wrong there! How does it run, tick over well, throttle response crisp? If its drinking fuel at the rate it sounds like it is it should feel like crap tbh.

Thou's are terrible! My mates is similar for drinking more than its share of go go juice.

Is it really out of fuel though or is it just when the light comes on, the tanks are different shapes after all. Have you reviewed the actual litres used on a pro rata sort of basis when you top it back up?

Yeah, either could have had a dodgy fuel sensor I suppose, or a massive dent in the tank full of filler :P

Thats the norm for the thou's
On a tour, ive gotten 150 out of a tank:smt080
Normal is 115-120 ish
If im scratching, its 85-95:smt037

88 miles is from fill up to light coming on. Its mainly town riding but there is a bit of national. I don't really go above 7k revs because i get enough go at lower revs. I'll try being a bit gentler on the acceleration see if that helps. I use engine braking a fair bit and its pretty strong but i was led to believe its better of fuel than braking more

Madness, how do some of you get such low MPG!? I know im a lightweight but the worst I EVER got on the SV was 45mpg! Thats about 120miles to a tank, and im sure I managed on a good run to get nearly 220 out of a tank!

Current bike not so good, but then its a 1L, 35MPG in town and thrashing it, and about 55-60 on a good run.

I get 110 minimum in town and national, jet 140+ on the motorway.

Sounds like a very good service is needed

I usually get 135 - 155 to the light on mine, once it was up near 180 after a very gentle rideout on crappy slippery roads (K6 pointy with end can)
