If you need evidence from YouTube, the 7m10 lap of the 'ring by a modified YZF-R1 is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inc9cGasgsA And the production SR8 lap is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbmDKZ78MOU |
Re: Bikes Vs Cars?
Again with nurburg, that car is faster yeah but look at the bike that still beat 90% of sports cars if you look at lap times, and im not saying it to back up bike and by no means would it make him faster than the car but in the vid you seen he is not full throttle on some bots as he has other bike/cars in front of him, not saying it would make massive difference but maybe 1-2seconds

We've got a confessional on the date, the location and the speed you exceeded, wanna stick the exact location on the M3, time of day, your registration plate, full name, and address on the internet too? Sent from my Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk |
Re: Bikes Vs Cars?
depends where it is being driven and what bike v what car. Is it a tight technical road, or a wide open power section?
Are you comparing price, specific output, performance figures? |
Re: Bikes Vs Cars?
I'm going to talk about superbikes and supercars.... Bikes accelerate faster to around 160 (with exception to the Bugatti where a BMW S1000RR loses after 140mph) but then a car will pull away due to superior horsepower numbers (except in extreme cases weight doesn't affect topspeed, just how fast it gets there), cars brake harder, cars will have a higher top speed. Corners... OBVIOUSLY a bike will destroy a car on slalom and chicanes because of its size and agility but on a proper bend a car will pull away.
Whichever way you look at it, a car costs 10x more but is no where near 10x the performance |

Re: Bikes Vs Cars?
are you sure about the stopping power?
In the real world though with traffic lights ,other traffic and general road furniture the car doesnt have much of a chance |
Re: Bikes Vs Cars?
I am deffinately sure about stopping power.. Agreed, it requires less force to stop a bike, however, you are limited by the endo factor....
Oh I totally agree... an average superbike rider vs an average supercar driver on the street (even a perfect sunday blast road with a steady flow of traffic) is no contest.. the bike will win every time but on a track and in the right hands a car will be a bike |
