I've only done 2k miles so I have not got to the 4k service yet.

We'll soon see how Sturdy's after service customer car is wont we? :)

yeah warrenty shuld cover everything inc labour and parts that you cant be held responsible for. they can charge you for the sproket if they want as its one of those things that can get damaged due to bad riding and excessive wheelies and such. tread carefully if you dont wanna pay for it, but if worst comes to worst swap it out for a renthal 47t (£29.99 tops). all the people i know (inc myself) are raving about how much fun you have with 47t, mad acceleration, easy wheelies and barley anything off top end.

An appreciable amount of sprocket runout is way more common than you might think, as long as there isn't undue wear, and you'd need an awful lot of wiggle for that to happen, it's nothing to worry about.

That said if you're at all worried by it, take it to the dealer, that's what new bikes and warrantys are all about.

Took the bike down to Sturdy's to show them the rear sprocket wobble.

Put the bike on the stand and run the rear wheel. They agreed that there was a slight wobble although nothing to worry about. Should be safe to ride!

I said that because it was a new bike that I would like to get a new one under warranty and their answer was.....Sure no problem!

What they will do is when it comes in for the 4k service (2200 at present) they will fit a new rear sprocket under warranty then....

I thought that was OK as they said it was safe to ride so overall I'm very happy with the after sales customer service.

Does that seem OK to everyone else?

Actually. Thinking about it. Changing the sprocket to have less teeth will increase the torque will it not? It will mean it wont go as fast (top end) but I never go that fast anyway.

If this is the case, Can I get the new sprocket under warranty?

If you want harder acceleration you need more teeth on the rear sprocket, less on the front.

you may well find it's not the sprocket itself which is out of flat, just as likely to be the carrier assembly. If that's the case a new sprocket might not improve it, but keep fingers crossed. :wink:
