Work at Tesco, it's much less stress! |
You now need to be SIA licensed - a long winded and painful process - the paperwork is crap!

I used to as a second job many moons ago - both at a night club and at Reading and Phoenix Festivals.
Dear heaven the women were the worst. Most blokes would back of after they had got their fill of macho posturing and salved their egos, but the birds - talk about instigators to riot. Heh heh, they would hate me and my kind as they could never play off a female bouncer like they could with the fellas. It just doesn't work. It does depend alot on where you work. It was exhausting, but front of house at the festivals was great fun. |
And there was me thinking you meant as a door man in a uniform at a posh hotel - bit like Hotel Babylon.
Sorry, I'll get me coat  Nutty Lou x |
Yep i coverd on the door to a club for a friend quite a few years ago, and although im shortish 5' 10" (but quite broad) i never really had that much trouble tbh. As i was the only guy on the front door and the other lad was downstairs in the warm, if their was any trouble i used to talk people down rather than smack em, although i did have to get a tad physical with a couple of customers.
Guys are usually just chopsey, the ladies however are a different matter, although if you use your mouth (to talk to them ;) ) then you will probably be alright. always worked for me ;) if you get what i mean :P. Just remember that other people count on you aswell (other doorstaff) so if you do have to get physical, stay in control but dont hold back, ****ed up people can be quite strong and not feel pain as they normally would, control is the best form of defence not beating them to a pulp. Good luck |
