I get this like someone said, it seems quite common on the sv's. When i rode to work everyday it stopped. Now that i don't ride as regular it seems to happen. I just move my fingers about when safe to, thi sems to help for ten mins

How tight are your gloves, in this weather the hands swell in the heat making your gloves tighter, this cuts off the circulation.
If not just dont grip the bars so tightly

I occasionally get the same. I don't realise until I stop at some lights and let go of the bars and then realise my wrists and hands hurt. I discovered that it happens when I am riding slowly through traffic and putting too much weight on my wrists. It's fine at higher speeds because the wind forces you back.

I agree with this explanation..it happened to me the other day on quite a long ride on a very hot day but at quite a low speed, when i stopped for fuel i could hardly get my gloves off and noticed the velcro fastenings were much tighter than when i had put them on when my hands were cooler.

If all the above fails, then try thicker bar grips.A bit of extra insulation here can iron out the vibes that cause numbness.I found using those velcro hot grip thingies prevented this problem on my Kwak.

Yeah it seems that you getting a bit restricted bloodflow in your hands.

constantly moving your hands and gripping lightly should do it.

The SV can be quite wristy so they all do that, sir.

Yeah, what he said.

You're gripping to tight, loosen up a bit.

Rubbish, you havn't adjusted your levers, there is NOTHING wrong other then the fact the levers are set up wrong in the factory, undo the nut and drop them a little. Even if it is 'wristy' this has NOTHING to do with his hands going numb.

Yes it is...the chap may have poor circulation too but that is a side issue.
If you put a part of the body under abnormal pressure or funny angles then it will create some interesting results...a bit like stress positions...it will start to hurt...and cause numbness.
