Any idea buy how many degrees the TR is?

But where is the fun/reward in that?!?!

adam_castell - don't expect a marked difference, it might make a bit more in the mid, but I doubt enough you'd notice!!

Unless you have your heart set on doing this, I'd say it is major hassle for minimal gains ... do you really want to be taking crankcases off, draining oil ... replacing gaskets disturbing bolts ... ?? If you love to fettle then go for it, if you are doing it for performance only, then I think you might be disappointed.

You would probably get better performance gains dropping some new plugs in and taking it down the dyno and getting it to run 100% correctly ...

If you think about it, the SV have a retard in 2nd and 3rd, I am not sure how many degrees it is retarded by (probably in the order of 4??) - do the TRE mod and you don't get the retard. I have done that and how much REAL difference does it make??? ... v-little ... to be honest I noticed NO detectable difference ... I haven't ridden an SV with an advance key, but I can extrapolate from the TRE mod to guess it will make very little difference ...

Have you done the TRE mod BTW? ;)

yes, i have eliminated the retard in 2nd and third..

the whole bike and engine is in peices at the moment anyway, so i might as well do it now, i do love to fettle!! :D im sure by itself it will make no noticeble difference, but i am in the process of giving the whole bike and engine an overhaul, just started porting and polishing the head, and i will be dropping some new cams in. theres not much to gain, but it all does add up, and the process of it all is fun.

Northwind, can i take you up on that offer of the puller, i will pm you my address, when i return it, i will stick the postage cost in with it.

cheers

Ok, if it is in bits already, then indeed, why not!?! 8)
