I would definitely recommend this to anybody, orange box on 360 is not something to be passed up really, I picked it up for £29.99 a year ago, should be found for cheap now. Comes with HL2, Episode 1 & 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2, all of which are fantastic. Can't really complain about the controls, they're just as fluid as any console FPS I've played, they're almost up there with COD4- I think, after COD4 there is no need to make any other FPS's as I doubt it'll ever be matched for controls (on console), pacing, multiplayer etc.

Saying that HL2 is done extremely well so far.

I honestly dont get the COD 4 obsession. Online imo it sucks :( Why award someone with special attacks when they are already kicking everyones ****!? Lose the attack heli etc and it would be ok online. Still no Unreal Tournament though, that takes real skill :p

The bit i found scariest in HL2 was crossing that massive bridge! It was so realistic I just dreaded falling to my death.

Then again, flight sims scare me too cos I don't like flying and everytime the plane crashes (I never got vey good!) I sh*t myself.

I think I have a fear of falling!

Ravenhome wasn't too bad I thought, more comical throwing the blades and paint cans etc. I didn't like the sound those werewolf things made though when they run across the building tops at you! I could feel the hairs standing up on my neck! I always play HL with headphones then I get sucked in.

yeah i wondered about cod4, everyone was raving about it like mad - i bought it from ebay and it's absolute dross... propa crap. I'm getting old and miserable

I enjoyed COD 4 to be honest , but any game where I can plot up and be a sniper makes me quite happy , I can`t be doing with all that running around in a frenzy of landmines and grenades . Much happier to direct the battle from atop a hill and take out anyone being sneaky with my Barrett .50 cal , whilst drinking Tea from a flask and munching Tuna and cucumber butties , much more relaxing :D

I was thinking about buying the Orange Box as we hit the usual New Year lull in the release schedule . I remember playing the first Resident Evil and hitting myself in the face with the pad when the Dobermann`s came crashing through the window , and the huge Tarantula on the ceiling gave me the cold sweats . I played the first Silent Hill in demo form that came free with Metal Gear Solid 2 , I was on my own at home and had just got surround sound .................. NEVER again . My Girlfriend at the time , came home and found me shouting at her because she walked in and I hadn`t heard her . I was sat on the chair , legs crossed underneath me and she said the funniest thing about it all was that I sprang out of the chair , legs dead straight and as I was flying through the air I was yelling "WHADDAYATRYINTOFUGGINDOTOME" before my feet touched the ground again .

that's my kind of game...

back in the days of perfect dark on the N64 in multiplayer, as soon as i got the alien rail gun sniper thing i could quite easily rack up a hundred kills before i got taken out

have you played Far Cry? one of the best stealth FPS games i've played:cool:

Played it on Xbox and loved it , then got it for the 360 and realised it was the same game ........ doh .
