Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
miles / ltr x 4.546 = MTG
example: 131.1miles / 9.98ltr x 4.546 = 59.71 MTG |
Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
See you guys are using all the wrong sums.
I use the equation, number of miles+number of overtakes+average lean angle, subtract fuel cost and multiply by grin factor = good day. You know it makes sense. |
Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
hang on, so are all these vehicle MPG's worked out in american gallons or proper gallons?

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
Average 135 miles per tank.

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
so two or three people on here are saying that they are suddenly getting less mpg than before without changing style / routes etc .... so what has changed ? Has the quality of the petrol gone down (along with the price going up !) ?? Would petrol quality affect mpg to such an extent ??

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
All one mile commutes = 40mpg. Nice long rideouts with Mrs DJF = 50mpg. Normal usage = somewhere in between

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
Easily getting 180 miles to a tank from a 99 curvy - I do try and ride 'Smoothly' though

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
Can't we get you brits to use the same as the rest of Europe and most of the world : Litres!! (aka 1000cm^3)
Always when I read these MPG threads, someone half way goes "oh wait, are those american or imperial?" Then it occurs to half the people doing the math that they were comparing different units of measure without converting... Soo.. http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instanc...x/15845908.jpg |

Re: 115 miles 'til fuel light.
I'm not talking about mpg, merely the amount I get to a tank of fuel which is is the same whether you're litres, gallons or over the pond gallons.
