Re: Hugger - does one need one

I have one of these that was fitted to my bike when i bought it. I noticed it was rubbing the tyre so took it off. Was getting sick of the mess under the bike so tried to refit it and found it very difficult to get the zip ties tight enough. Ended up taking it off agin as it wouldn't sit properly and still rubs tyre. I want to get a hugger and will go for one with an attached chain guard next time |
Re: Hugger - does one need one
The curvy has a pretty effective cr*p flap fitted anyway, the plastic bit between the wheel and shock... I've used various huggers but honestly, I don't think they make much difference at all. I hate how they look personally, though I do have a Pyramids one somewhere and it's not too offensive. But I'm not convinced that they're very functional.

Re: Hugger - does one need one
You need to remove the wheel to get a good fit, push it hard against the swingarm and have the lugs for the zip-ties on the underneath as this helps tighten them up. I'll see if I can dig out a picture when I get out of the training room.
