Battery terminal repair?

The lead terminals on the sv's battery are knackered. Is there anywhere you can get them replaced or repaired?

It's the terminal on the battery, not the wiring loom. Trying to avoid buying a new battery

Re: Battery terminal repair

Not sure how well it would drill. It's like the lead has slowly spread apart

Id get a file and remove the excess metal, bend the terminal straight.
Get a small piece of steel or brass, bend it over the ok terminal and drill it to the right size hole.

Mate looking at that you may have a elecrical issue as that has had massive heat over it

I think i might struggle to get the loom connector over another bit of metal

Na its always been that funny shape. I think its just the pressure of the bolt that has made it seperate

what you got running over the battery?
Never thought about using another fuse board?

If it was that hot surely it would have damaged the plastic surround? Looks like someone's been ragging it about tbh. Can ya get a nut under there ?

DarrenSV650S 26-06-11 11:27 AM

Re: Battery terminal repair?

I think the nut would just pull through. I might just buy a new battery

Push halves together with grips and solder it up carefully?

Re: Battery terminal repair?

Blegh I can see that going very badly. My solder iron has difficulty with normal soldering :)

That's what I did today. Nice square terminals :)
