Carb Balancing Anyone know how to / have the equippment?

As above, can anyone help me balancing the carbs ?

Scoobs 14-06-06 02:50 PM

'tis a piece of ****, but can be fiddly. Need to attach the gauges to the vacuum take off on the carbs. The back one is easy to access. The front one is a bleedin knuckle nightmare.

Once the gauges are attached, start the bike a level the dials using the screw on the arm that connects the two butterflies. It doesn't matter what the gauges are reading as long as they are level. Morgan Carbtune is the gauge to get and generally gets the nod as one of the best home kit gauges. Avoid dial gauges if possible.

if he hasn't taken it then u can borrow it.. it's for an il4 but can probably just use 2 of the gauages...

You forgot about releasing the widger, unwinding the flange rotator and fine adjusting the minge gimlet.

Scoobs 16-06-06 07:14 AM

Didn't my original post help then?

SpankyHam 16-06-06 07:38 AM

Erm yes you explained to me how it's done thanks.

Reason why I posted this in the Essex lounge is that someone local who has a carb balancing kit would show me / help me how to do it.

Since nobody does, I might aswell let a garage do it.

If you buy a set of gauges it will cost about as much as a garage charges you to do it. You will then be able to do it whenever you please.
